I joined a new gym the summer of 1997. The owner, Dick Zahneis, a successful competitor with years of experience, saw how I was struggling ... trying this product and that ... with no real results. One day he and his partner Stan, took me aside and said, "Jeff we»ll let you in on our secret." They told me that even though they were looked upon as the experts at the gym, they actually have their own personal nutrition mentors and had established a legitimate source for proven supplements. Dick said, If anyone can help you, these people can.
I started using Beverly International products that summer and my physical transformation since has been incredible. Remember, I»d been working out consistently with weights for 10 years. I»d tried just about everything to unlock the key to a better body. For 10 years I was a non competitive bodybuilder making hardly any gains. Now I am a competitive winning bodybuilder. I have won 4 overall titles in the six shows in which I’ve competed, and took second place in my class to the eventual overall winner in the other two. I just won the overall at the Iron Man Naturals, August 1 and I»ll be competing the 1998 NPC Team Universe later this month. But you don’t have to be a competitive bodybuilder to want to be the best you can be.
I wasn’t a competitive bodybuilder either, at least not until I started working with Roger and Sandy at Beverly International. I’ve been using Beverly International products for one year as I write this. I’m going to continue to use them for the rest of my life. Because they work! My gains are incredible! This past year I made big gains over the winter even though my training intensity was only about 75% due to an injury. I know if it wasn’t for the right supplement and diet program I would have lost muscle and gained fat. Instead I gained muscle and lost fat!

My own pre contest program is in constant flux. I keep gaining muscle, getting harder and more ripped. Here is the exact supplement program and base line diet I used to go from a weight of 172 at the Indianapolis on June 13, 1998 to a weight of 178 at the Iron Man Classic, August 1. Roger and Sandy made weekly modifications as noted below. I followed a high protein, moderate fat, low carb diet up to the Indianapolis, then Roger and Sandy shocked me by presenting me with the higher carb, low fat diet listed below.
Ratio of Food Groups: Protein = 50 %, Carbohydrates = 43 %, Fat = 7 %
5 ounces lean meat (turkey breast, 96% fat free beef, chicken breast, tuna or other fish)
1 cup cooked rice or 6 oz. baked potato or yam
1 cup vegetables
One week before the Iron Man, Roger doubled my protein to 10 oz. portions at meals #2, 3, 4, 5 and cut my starch carbs in half from Sunday – Tuesday. We kept my protein at 10 oz. portions and doubled the amount of starch carbs on the baseline diet on Wednesday and Thursday. Then went back to the baseline diet carb amounts, eliminated vegetables, but still utilized 10 oz. protein portions on Friday and Saturday. I added potassium on Thursday and Friday, yet did no water manipulation or sodium restriction.
