Sandy Riedinger’s 10 Tips on How to Educate and Sell Beverly Supplements.

Every day, one or more of these ideas come out of my mouth while conversing with clients. I figured why not publish them in No Nonsense for all to see. If you are the owner or employee of a business where Beverly International supplements are sold, you’ll get some valuable info you can use to improve your business. If you are a Beverly supplement user, I hope that it will give you some insight on how we do business.

RESULTS are what we are after. Those Beverly resellers who personally use Beverly are the best at helping their clients use them. Firsthand experience speaks volumes!

  1. Core product knowledge. Become an expert! The more you know, the more you can share. Don’t shortchange a client because of what you don’t know. Create a plan to fill in the gaps in your supplement knowledge. Chunk what you need to know by category... Create a file or a physical go-to binder for each goal category... strength gains, fat loss, increased overall health, contest prepping, athletic performance, etc... Use our website and magazines as a library. They will give you everything you need. We made them that way on purpose- Team Beverly is also on hand Monday – Friday from 9-5 to answer Product Questions. We are your extended support team.
  2. Get familiar with our website: www.beverlyinternational.com. Not only can you use it as a personal educational tool, but you can send your clients there to get further detailed information. Two of our self-help supplement advisory sections are right there on the front page, our "Easy to Use Supplement Recommendation Chart" and "Nutrition, Training and Supplement Solutions" page. Both take the guesswork out of making the correct recommendations to your clients. If you click on the "PRODUCTS" link at top, you’ll find about anything you need to know about each individual supplement.
  3. Get to know your client’s needs. Best way to find out what they need is ask, "What would you like to achieve and When is your deadline?" Pay attention to your client, LISTEN first, confirm his or her goals, then advise them in the right direction. Don’t overdo it! Remember- everyone wants results, but not everyone is a high-end supplement junky. Some are minimalists. Moderation is key. If they have trouble taking pills, recommend powders, not a rote 18 Mass and 18 Ultra 40 per day. Many clients are only interested in the highly advertised, "next big thing." Since we are not one of those highly visible, hard push advertising companies, that sector may not even know of us. Some people believe that all supplements are the same. –– They are not.
  4. Selling product packages. Try bundling products together to help your clients get the best results while saving a little money. Example: UMP, Lean Out, 7-Keto, Fit Tabs for fat loss. Run a Beverly INFORM day where you hand out our educational flyers and magazines. Make Dixie cup shake samples for Beverly newcomers.
  5. Educate every new client. Curiosity is there. We like informed clients! Send "Did you know" emails to your client base, or forward our No Nonsense E-newsletter. Be action oriented! Don’t be too technical in your explanations. Develop a system for every new client, or better, everyone who walks in your store or visits your website. Give them an info packet specific to their goals.
"You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you!" – Dale Carnegie
  6. Diet and Nutrition Support. Whether you have created your own programs or are using our nutrition library and sample programs on the Beverly website, include details and specific supplement protocols. This makes it much easier and more effective for your clients. Spell it out. Detail the product dosage and timing. You are the advisor. Cover all the bases.
  7. Read "How To" sales materials and "Self Improvement" literature. We use Brian Tracy’s programs here at Beverly.
  8. 100% Money Back Guarantee. You and your clients never lose. Beverly covers every purchase with a MBG. We will always honor the guarantee to you, please honor it for your clients.
  9. Use our Recipe section on the Web. Versatility with Beverly Protein powders = personal power!!! Keeps the humdrums away. Here’s one for you right now! Oatmeal Breakfast Parfait: cook oatmeal, add strawberries and blueberries, top with UMP pudding (mix 1 scoop UMP in a small amount of water until it reaches a pudding consistency), and a few nuts. Love it!

  10. Give away this No Nonsense magazine to everyone! It changes lives and it’s free!

Dreamers Setting Goals and Making it Happen

I’ve known OC for years and years – I didn’t know he had a daughter until he told me that he was helping her train for a contest. "My daughter told me she wanted to compete in a figure competition for her 30th birthday...

Denisha and OC

I knew we had our work cut out for us. I knew that back, shoulders, and legs are the main body parts figure judges look for, so that’s where we concentrated her training." Now, Denisha talks about her diet and supplement program. "I followed Beverly’s ‘fast fat loss carb cycling program’ starting with an UMP shake w/ 1 tsp coconut oil upon arising; 3 oz chicken, 3 egg whites, and one-half grapefruit for breakfast after my workout; another UMP shake mid-morning; 5 oz chicken or turkey and 2 cups of green veggies for lunch; and 5 oz lean steak with 2 cups green veggies for dinner. I had the standard BI carb up meal on Monday and Thursday for dinner: ¾ cup oatmeal or brown rice, 5 oz sweet potato, 4 oz banana, 1 cup vegetables and 1 tbsp butter. Supplements included Fit Tabs and EFA Gold at breakfast, 3 Ultra 40, 5 Density, 2 Muscularity, 2 Lean Out, and 1 Energy Reserve with each meal; and Glutamine Select during training. I am pleased to say the show went very well and I placed 1st in my class. Coming from a weight of 143 to my contest weight of 108, I was thrilled with my victory."

Sabrina Sonner

We’ve known Sabrina Sonner for a long time at Beverly.

Sabrina is a model of perseverance. She has been training for 29 years and improves each year. Wow, was I excited when she told me she finished 3rd at this year’s NPC Masters Nationals! What an accomplishment! Sabrina’s favorite supps are UMP, Quadracarn, Glutamine Select plus BCAAs, and Fast Up. She says she tells everyone that Beverly’s UMP is the BEST tasting protein powder out there, her favorite is chocolate..   [ Sabrina Sonner  Bodybuilding to Figure my IFBB Pro Card in Women’s Physique  ]

Mendy Lynn

New IFPA Pro Bikini Competitor, Mendy Lynn knew she had some important changes to make if she wanted to be a successful competitor.

"One of the first things I did was trade in the cheap whey concentrate protein powder I was buying at a local store and start taking the quality UMP which tastes 100% better anyway. I also started taking 7-Keto and Lean Out, as well as Glutamine Select, Energy Reserve, and FitTabs." Mendy invites you to join her Chic Clique group via email at chicclique411@gmail.com.

Erin Kerrigan

Erin Kerrigan has a great, athletic look.

Erin Kerrigan

She’s 36, wife, mother and federal law enforcement officer. Erin writes, "I finally competed in and won my first figure competition after years of dreaming about it... I learned of Beverly International while working in Afghanistan from a friend who competed in bodybuilding. He turned me on to Ultimate Muscle Protein (UMP) and I have been hooked ever since. In preparation for my competition, I leaned heavily on Muscularity (due to my caloric deficit), Glutamine Select plus BCAAs (recovery), Super Pak (every essential vitamin and mineral), Lean Out and 7-Keto (fat loss). I will be looking forward to begin training for my next competition, but first my husband and I are looking to expand our family... BI will always be an integral part of my fitness regimen.

Chis Swift

It was good to hear from one of our long-time clients Chris Swift. I first met Chris 10 years ago, back when we were doing one-on-one consultations. Chris writes, "I came to Roger and Sandy weighing 287lbs. I was 5’5 and had a 46" waist. They took me in just as if I was one of their best clients and guided me through a diet program. I’ve kept their diet with me and have continued using Beverly supplements ever since. I have been able to keep the weight off for 10 years through my military and firefighting careers. Last year was my first bodybuilding competition; I competed at the NPC Southern Kentucky and placed 1st in men’s novice and open.

Chris Swift before and after

I eat 6 meals a day consisting of (1) egg whites w/oats, (2) chicken w/asparagus, (3) chicken w/asparagus, (4) Beverly UMP Protein, (5) lean beef w/sweet potato and (6) egg whites at night. Today I weigh 179lbs with a 29" waist. I still use the same Beverly products as when I started, Lean Out, UMP, 7-Keto, and Glutamine Select w/BCAAs."

Wife Finally Gets Husb and Hooked on Beverly

Deanna and Mark Dudek

Mark Dudek’s wife, Deanna, wrote to tell how she got her husband "hooked on Beverly". Deanna has 22 years’ experience training with many successful clients, but Mark wouldn’t listen to her. He’d been working out since high school and already "knew everything." First, he tried to "get big", purchased awful supplements, and yes, he increased "size", but more fat than muscle, and ended phase 1 with kidney and liver problems, and unbelievably high blood pressure. Phase 2 was "get a six-pack". Again, Mark wouldn’t listen to Deanna. He severely cut calories, did cardio like a mad man, and supplemented on "gas station fat burning pills". He lost a lot of weight and whatever muscle he’d gained in Phase 1.

Deanna takes it from here, "I was worried for his health. I knew he was too stubborn to listen to me, so I started leaving my No Nonsense mags out in hopes he would pick one up. I kept my mouth shut when I saw him reading them, knowing they’d work like magic and they did. Mark finally asked for help. I switched him to Beverly supplements and a diet similar to those in the NNM. Eventually he entered his first contest and won his novice, masters, and open classes as well as the Masters Overall!."

Mark’s favorite supplement is UMP prepared as a frozen pudding. He also uses Creatine Select, Up-Lift, Quadracarn, Mass Amino Acids and Ultra 40. He swears Mass Amino Acids and Ultra 40 helped him to keep from losing muscle during the last weeks before the show. "When Fast-Up became available I purchased it for him. Mark is a truck driver and could not have anything that interfered with his driving or keep him up at night. Fast-Up gave him the energy he needed without the jitters."

Mark started at 248 pounds with 16% body fat. He now is 205 pounds with 2.8% body fat. That is a 13% loss of body fat, while keeping unbelievable amounts of muscle! Thank you Beverly!

Favorite Fitness Meal: 1.5 scoops of Vanilla UMP mixed with ½ cup uncooked oats, cinnamon powder, almonds, stevia and water to make into a pudding consistency.

Favorite supplements: Lean Out – helps me maintain a lean physique all year round, 7-Keto – helps me get rid of stubborn body fat, Muscularity – maintains muscle while leaning down (as a female I noticed it is easy to lose muscle while bringing your body fat down to competition level), Up-Lift 30 min. before workouts and I sip on another serving during my workout or cardio.

Hobby or interests outside bodybuilding: Riding my Harley motorcycle side by side with my husband and decorating our home.

Words to live by: If you want to achieve a goal and you have it in your heart and your mind then you can achieve it!

Favorite supplements: I LOVE BI’s Glutamine Select plus BCAAs. I drink this during my workout and then will have a scoop with water in the afternoon to curb cravings. I have UMP mixed with powdered peanut powder and water to a mousse consistency (my favorite – yummy!). Lean Out and 7-Keto for fat loss.

What would you recommend to someone who has never used Beverly supplements before? Start with UMP. It is so versatile, plus, it tastes fabulous!

Most Inspiring Book: Awaken the Giant Within by Tony Robbins

Problems You Have Had to Overcome: I was born with a birth defect called club foot, and the doctors originally told my parents I would never walk without braces (think Forrest Gump). Most of my baby pictures are of me in casts from numerous reconstructive surgeries. Instead of thinking I’m fragile, delicate and cannot do certain things, I’ve always thought that I have bionic ankles, and there isn’t anything I can’t do. I’m pretty sure that’s what’s driven me to run numerous 5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons, two full marathons, two sprint triathlons and, most recently, my very first figure competition.

Closing Thoughts

2012 is flying by. I sure hope you are making good progress in every area of your life. In a team meeting the other day, Brian Tracy told our group: "Life is God’s gift to man... what you do with it is Man’s gift to God." Well stated indeed! "If it is to be, it’s up to me!"

You can do anything you set your mind to! I said the other day that I wished I had perfected my public speaking. I also said that I wish that I was a retired Navy Seal. (I don’t think they get too many girls applying!) These are noted areas where I feel I am weak. Oh well, at least I was stretching it a little and putting it out there. We all can dream! It makes us more interesting people. Thanks for taking the time to read this column. I also thank those that contributed! Lots of awesome stories!!! Dreamers setting goals and making it happen. If you have a dream you’ve achieved and would like to share, send it to Sandyr@beverlyinternational.net. Ta Ta for now!
